I’ve recently started visiting this independent book shop + cafe and I am so glad I discovered it !! very very well curated stocked shelves of books with loads of options & recommendations from the owners. not only is the book selection excellent but they do very good coffee and buns ! some other great things about this store is that they also have a book loyalty card and the people who work there are always friendly :) de säljer även kardemummabullar (för alla skandinavisk) vilket är mycket svårt att slå.

Love Novel, love Kate. Perfect, friendly, chill atmosphere. Great dirty chai. The only fault that Novel has is that I spend way too much time there, once I'm in. Browsing books is a real black hole of time.😁 …

Novel is a welcoming gem in Crookes. It’s nice to be able to continue supporting this great independent business since moving away from Sheffield by ordering online. Looking forward to reading my new book!

Wonderful experience today. Had been a customer when they were doing the pop up scene which was always nice but seeing them in their new home on School Road was a real joy. The shop looks fantastic, really chill, friendly vibes and a great cup of coffee. Definitely worth the trek! Looking forward to seeing them grow into the premier indie book shop in the north.

Such a special space! Kate and Joe have taken the time to select a unique and wonderful collection of books to sell. As an avid (and extremely fussy) reader, I loved being able to chat to Kate about all the books in their collection. She made it a very personal experience, taking time to listen to what I’ve previously enjoyed, and I’ve absolutely loved both books she recommended! I also purchased a beautiful children’s book for my 2 year old niece as a gift, which went down a treat. The space itself has been designed as the perfect reading nook, and the coffee and treats for sale make it nearly impossible to leave. Overall, a calm and friendly atmosphere and a lovely way to spend your coffee break or just nip in to grab your next read. There’s really something for everyone there. Personally, I love supporting small businesses (especially when the owners have clearly put so much effort into their brand) and will continue to shop from Novel for all my future reads. Ive loved all of Kate’s recommendations for years so I can’t wait to see how the business grows!

Perfect neighborhood independent bookshop and coffee shop (with sweet treats too)! The owners are both friendly and helpful with plenty of personalised recommendations. There’s window seating, a bench outside and seating in the back for some delicious coffee whilst browsing. They even do peach iced tea for the ☀️days. There’s a book club… and you can also order in books specifically. What more could you want! Honestly been hoping for a place like this for a long time, and it does not disappoint. So grateful and pleased to have this on my doorstep!

Lovely bookshop and cafe in my community! Unique and amazing book selections. There are few Japanese author’s books as well. A coffee is great taste. Very comfortable and ideal place for book lovers!
